Buddhist Refuge & Lay Vow Ceremonies

When you are ready to formally dedicate yourself to the Buddhist wisdom path you can choose to honor that calling with a refuge ceremony. During such ceremony you take refuge in the three jewels, Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, as your three main guides through life.

If requested, Lama Chimey also bestows one or more lay precepts, so-called upasaka vows, to those who wish to take them.

The Upasaka vows are to refrain from killing, stealing, lying, sexual misconduct and intoxication.

This ceremony usually takes place upon request by a group or in conjunction with public teachings. If you have a group of people who would like to take refuge in the Buddhist wisdom path, or if you wish to be informed when Lama Chimey conducts such an event, contact us below.
